Two science students at the University of Southern Denmark were electronically tagging starfish by inserting microchips beneath their skin, like they would any other animal. For most species, it usually works. But starfish, being the freaks of that nature they are, won’t having any of it.

So far, researchers don’t know why or even how they’re doing it, but after receiving the microchips, the starfish are, days later, purging them from their legs (or arms, if it pleases you). Weird.
