Off Fraser Island in Queensland, Australia, juvenile black marlin occasionally follow currents into the four-foot-shallow sand flats on the inside of Harvey Bay where they pounce on baitfish. This presents a unique opportunity for fly fishermen to sight cast to these otherwise elusive predators also known as “black torpedoes.”
Looks like I’ll be booking a flight across the ditch to Queensland shortly. Who’s coming with? –OJB
