Without any context this looks like it might have been a tragic disaster, but on closer look, none of those boats were going anywhere fast and it’s just a group of scrapyard workers getting their jollies. When the MS Ostend Sprit, which operated between France and England on the English Channel was decommissioned, it was sold to a yard in Turkey for scrap. Rather than lay the goliath ship to rest in a peaceful manner, the captain (presumably) instead decided to bore full speed up the beach and into the scrapyard. Why not?
