Buy Aga Khan IV’s Guest House on the Costa Smeralda in Sardinia
by Owen James Burke
Prince Karim Aga Khan IV used to host parties here whose guest lists included Brigitte Bardot, Catherine Deneuve and Spanish King Juan Carlos at this 13-bedroom 1960s villa designed by Italian architect Luigi Vietti. Now, for an undisclosed amount — and for only the second time ever — it’s up for sale.
Included is the 8,600-square-foot villa (divided into three units), one choice acre of waterfront, and the guest list of your dreams. (I’d be happy with a handful of close friends and a few Peroni’s.)
You can bet that the Prince, current Imam of Nizari Ismailism, has had quite a few kicks here, but having been built by Vietti, she’s still ripe for a few more, no doubt.
You probably wouldn’t come across too much trouble trying to find a place for your yacht, either. (Again, Blues Dory would suffice.)
