Standup Paddler Taken Out by a Dolphin in South Africa, Prone Paddling Surfers Rejoice
by Owen James Burke
Prone paddling surfers are never too pleased to see a standup paddlers enter the lineup, and it would appear that dolphins aren’t either. Standup paddlers are able to catch a wave much farther out and prevent other surfers waiting closer to the break from having a chance at a ride. Three or four standup paddlers out there and the rest of the surfers can lose all hope of catching a wave, so it’s no small wonder why everyone on shore rejoiced when this standup paddler received a playful but disapproving nudge from the dolphin after he paddled out during a surf competition on Jongensfontein Beach in South Africa.
