Night Surfing Giant Waves

Early this morning, at 2AM, Mark Visser donned a vest with “Ground breating NASA submarine lighting” and rode waves in the dark. But not just any waves–30 to 40 foot waves at Hawaii’s famed Jaws break off Maui. These are waves most great surfers won’t handle in the day. But here’s Mark executing a 2-year dream of his.
“Riding in complete darkness meant I had to go off of feeling. I had to zone out from how you normally ride and just be part of the wave. I am so pumped to achieve something that no one thought possible and that I was told couldn’t be done.”
