Wish You Were Here: An oil rig transformed to dive platform, Celebes Sea, Borneo

The only dive platform in the world transformed from an old oil rig is right here.
It has an elevator that drops you right into the water. Nearby Sipidan island was ordered vacated by the government 5 years ago to make the island into a national park, where only 120 permits for diving are issued a day. An employee band plays nights, and the hot water heater doesn’t always work. But still, it seems like the kind of place I wish I could visit. [Seaventures, WSJ]
